For your convenience we have provided some of our most frequently asked questions. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have additional questions.
A: Stability balls are available at any big box store or sporting good store. You do not need to purchase any special brand just purchase an affordable ball. Be sure the ball is not weighted.
A: Select a stability ball based on your height.
If you are under 5 foot purchase a 45cm ball.
If you are between 5 foot and 5 foot 7 inches tall selected a 55 cm ball.
If you are over 5 foot 7 inches tall purchase a 65 cm ball.
Heavier people or people with long limbs may benefit from the next size larger ball than the one recommended above.
A: Adjust the inflation of your stability ball to fit your comfort zone. The general rule is that when you sit on the ball you should form a 90 degree angle with your knees. Extremely firm balls roll more easily and quickly. Less firm balls, somewhat deflated, create a wider base of support for the exerciser. Stability balls are vinyl and they will stretch so periodically check the ball size and firmness and add air to ensure proper inflation.
A: Bring your inflated stability ball. It is also highly recommended that you bring a mat and a pair of 2 -3 pound hand weights.
A: You should wear form fitting clothing which allows freedom of movement. Loose fitting clothing can interfere with the movement of your ball. Bare skin contacting the ball can interfer with your movement on the ball (e.g. exposed skin can stick to the vinyl and perspiration may make the ball slippery). Athletic shoes are required.
